Adobe launches Photoshop Express

On Thursday Adobe Systems opened up Photoshop Express, its long-anticipated Web-based image editor aimed at the millions of consumers that want a simple way to touch up, share, and store photos. It is a online photo editing and sharing service, which Adobe system has launched for users. While the Photoshop Express TOS is probably the result of disconnect between Adobe’s lawyers and, well, the real world; until the TOS are changed you might want hold off on uploading any images to Photoshop Express.

Adobe Photoshop Express is not likely to be meaningful to its professional Photoshop CS3 customers. The service offers up to 2 Gbytes of online storage, and that’s only one or two pictures for many serious photographers. Adobe Photoshop Express also limits uploads to 10 megabytes and 4000 pixels in height and width.

Photoshop Express won’t be in the same league as the full blown product, but it will let users make simple edits, like resizing, cropping, converting to black and white, removing red eye and other blemishes. Adobe said in a statement that the users can access the service from any Web browser including Internet Explorer, Firefox and Safari, but Adobe’s Flash Player 9, the most recent version, is required to use it.
