The Spirit Movie

The Spirit is a 2008 American avant-garde film noir, written and directed by Frank Miller and starring Gabriel Macht, Samuel L. Jackson, Scarlett Johansson and Eva Mendes. The film is based on the newspaper comic strip The Spirit by Will Eisner. Batfilm, OddLot, and Lionsgate produced the film. In Central City, the detective known as the Spirit must stop the criminal known as the Octopus from retrieving a mysterious treasure chest from Central City’s Mud Flats containing the blood of Heracles, which would give him unlimited power and immortality. After a battle with the Octopus, the Spirit stumbles upon a locket in Mud Flats, parting the veil of memory to remember Sand Saref, the girl he loved when they were teenagers growing up in the slums of Central City.
